PV Sindhu Returns Home, Joking About Broken Walls After All England Withdrawal
Star badminton player PV Sindhu is back home in Bengaluru. She was stuck in Dubai due to flight cancellations. Tensions between Iran, Israel, and the US caused these problems. Dubai airport closed temporarily. Sindhu confirmed her return on social media. Her husband, Venkat, shared a funny picture of her.
Sindhu’s Dubai Delay and All England Absence
PV Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, was traveling through Dubai. She was heading to Birmingham for the important All England Badminton Championship. However, fighting in the Middle East disrupted flights. The US and Israel bombed Iran. Iran then struck back. This made the situation worse. Flights in the Dubai area were stopped. Sindhu could not reach England in time. She decided to pull out of the tournament. She then returned home.
A Humorous Welcome Home
Upon arriving in Bengaluru, Sindhu visited her home that is still being built. She found some walls were broken. Her husband, Venkat Dutta, posted a picture of this. He joked about it. The picture showed Sindhu standing near a damaged wall. Venkat wrote, “Sindhu is home and chose violence against our house walls.”
Sindhu’s Playful Response
Sindhu shared her husband’s post on Instagram. She replied with a funny comment. She said, “All England didn’t get to experience my smashes, so I made the living room my badminton court.” Both Sindhu and Venkat used laughing emojis. This showed their lighthearted mood despite the stressful travel.
Safe Return and Gratitude
Sindhu also shared news of her safe return on X, formerly Twitter. She posted, “Back home in Bengaluru and safe. The past few days have been extremely stressful and uncertain, but I am extremely grateful to be back home.” She thanked the Dubai administration, airport staff, and immigration team. She praised their help during the difficult time. She noted their “sensitivity and professionalism were beyond words.”
Looking Ahead
Sindhu stated, “It’s time to rest, recover, and plan for the future.” Earlier, on February 28, she had described her experience in Dubai. She mentioned an explosion near her hotel. She called it a “stressful and frightening moment.” Her coach, Prajakta from Indonesia, was with her. Now, after a safe return, Sindhu will rest. She will then focus on upcoming badminton competitions.
