In Munger’s Jamalpur, a female health worker, known as an ANM, has stopped her duties at the Halimpur-Gauripur Health and Wellness Center. She stated she feels unsafe working there. This decision came after a drunk young man allegedly misbehaved with her. The ANM went to the Jamalpur Primary Health Center in a distressed state. She told the officer in charge, Dr. Sanjay Kumar Suman, that her safety and respect are at risk. She feels she cannot work under these conditions. She has locked the center, citing it as unsafe for her.
Health center staff expressed surprise at her statement. The incident reportedly happened on Thursday. A young man, described as drunk, entered the health center. He allegedly began misbehaving with ANMs Preeti and Niharika. Reports suggest the youth also physically accosted the two health workers, leaving them frightened.

The Halimpur-Gauripur Health and Wellness Center is now temporarily closed. Health workers claim this incident might be part of a plan to undermine them. They recently faced an inquiry into expired medicines. The report was sent to the Civil Surgeon. Although cleared of wrongdoing, they feel targeted.
Another Staff Member Resigns
Adding to the concerns, a Block Community Motivator (BCM) at the Jamalpur Primary Health Center has also resigned. Ashutosh Kumar cited harassment as the reason. He stated that staff are dedicated to patient care. However, he believes a plot is underway to damage their reputation. This situation has also caused stress for his family.
